A few weeks ago Pugs gear helped provide raffle prizes to the Autism Society of Illinois’ Taking the Edge off Autism Hockey Tournament by donating dozens of polarized sunglasses along with other sunglass styles and gear. It was an amazing event that saw the best come out in people as players from around the state came in to enjoy some ice time while helping raise autism awareness.
While the teams were on the ice, Pugs gear was in the lobbies and seats cheering these warriors on! As more and more sunglasses were raffled off, you could see the visitors and players rocking their new shades throughout the event. By the end of the tournament almost everyone was sporting their Pugs sunglasses and gear and champions were crowned. This year’s winners not only went home with some awesome shades but also custom ASI hockey jerseys! Congratulations to this year’s champions and to everyone who came out and supported the ASI and their cause at the Taking the Edge off Autism Hockey Tournament!
A little bit about the ASI:
The Autism Society of Illinois (ASI) was founded more than 30 years ago for individuals with autism, parents, families, professionals, corporate partners and friends. Their objective is to provide education, training, individual assistance and practical support for parents; increase public awareness of autism; and offer a referral network of professionals.
Taking the Edge off Autism is a hockey tournament put on by the ASI to help raise money and awareness for autism within the state. Going on for a couple of years now, this hockey tournament helps bring the local community together to enjoy the sport while also helping to raise awareness for a condition that 1 in every 50 children are diagnosed with. If you would like to donate money to the ASI’s cause or learn more about the society, you can visit their web page here or follow their Facebook group here.
If you have an event or fundraiser that you would like Pugs to donate some gear to raffle off, please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the possibility of Pugs providing product. While we cannot send gear out to every event that comes our way, we are usually more than happy to provide some sort of product to give away at deserving events. We treat each proposal individually on a case by case basis so just send us an email detailing exactly who your organization is and what your event is about. We will review it as soon as possible and contact you letting you know if Pugs can help!
Congratulations again to all of those who attended, completed in and helped set up the Autism Society of Illinois’ Hockey Tournament this year!
