Annually, we look forward to Summer so we can relax in the sun-kissed warmth the sunshine radiates our direction. In reality, it does happen that we constantly lose sight of Summer as our schedules quickly fill up with so many activities, that finding time to relax quickly falls out of the question. Regardless, the health advantages to spending time outside are inarguable, in-fact, simply being within a green space can help you relax.

With Summer approaching a close, we’ve rounded up a few ways to unwind in the great outdoors before the weather begins to change. Make sure to go outside and give them a try with your Pugs Sunglasses – you can thank us, and yourself later.

Eat a Slice of Watermelon

Dark chocolate what? There is a healthier option than sweet treat containing stress-reducing properties. A study conducted by Florida State University found that watermelon could lower blood pressure in individuals who happen to be overweight. Moreover, watermelon contains lycopene which suggests that it could decrease stress.

Walk In the Park

Walking around a park can decrease stress by increasing endorphins. You don’t necessarily need a high-energy workout to feel better. A 30-minute walk daily could put your brain in a state of zen, by lowering stress and depression as well as improving your well-being physically and mentally.

Try Outdoor Yoga

By taking your matt outside and practicing yoga, you could find some peaceful time to get in tune with your thoughts and inner self, to ultimately feel more balanced. Don’t be afraid to find an outdoor yoga class to practice and improve your yoga moves.

Take Your Pet Out

We’ve already told you about the benefits of hiking with your dog, so don’t hesitate to take your four-legged pal with you for a walk. It could help you mentally and physically. In fact, a study conducted by SUNY Buffalo did a study and concluded that difficult tasks appear to be less stressful when a pet is present.

Explore a New Bike Path

Biking can be good mentally and physically, and has even proven to relieve symptoms of mild depression. Cardio specifically has proven to increase confidence, and improve your overall mental and physical wellbeing by peddling away on two wheels.

Go on a Day Trip

Instead of shopping to make yourself feel better, invest in experiences as the gratifying value will last much longer and heavier than a material item, as they lose novelty quickly. If you’re feeling adventurous, try these hiking spots, or getaway on a canoe accompanied by the sunshine.

Take a Dip

Whether you live next to the ocean, lake, or even a pool don’t forget to get your feet wet this remainder of summer. Swimming, like cardio, has proven to relieve stress and anxiety. The beach environment, specifically due to the sand and waves has proven to make individuals happier than urban environments. The sand has various properties which will give you a better version of you, such as exfoliating properties, and can better tone you during a beach workout.

Don’t let the end of summer slip away. Take advantage of these summer activities during the remainder of these warm days. Don’t forget to shop Pugs polarized sunglasses and Pugs hats and our other outdoor gear  to keep you looking and feeling cool!
