If you can't wait for temperatures to drop so you can hit the slopes, you are not alone. Every year skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports are a very popular way to spend time outdoors.
Lucky for you, you won't have to wait very long. Who says you have to wait for winter to start enjoying your favorite winter sports? The ski areas certainly don't want you to wait that long. Every year, they manufacture snow as soon as the temperatures start to drop, so you can hit the slopes before the calendar flips to the winter months. Copper Mountain and Keystone Mountain in Colorado will both be opening this year on October 31st, Loveland Ski Resort, (a smaller resort in Colorado,) will be opening on October 17th if you just can't wait to get started.
Resorts in Lake Tahoe, Utah and Wyoming will all open in late November. However, Killington Ski Resort in Vermont will open November 5th and a few other Vermont resorts will open just a week after that. Canada also has one resort opening early, the Banff Ski Resort will be open on November 7th.
Of course you know what this means, it's not too early to start getting your equipment ready. While you're digging up your boots and boards, don't forget that sunglasses, goggles, and cool beanies are essential equipment for winter sports. When the sun reflects off the snow it can cause severe uv damage to your eyes. Don't worry about your expensive sunglasses getting lost on the slopes somewhere, check out Pugs affordable sunglasses.
