Unique Summer Activities To Do This Summer

In all its’ sun kissed, long nights, and day-drinking glory – summer has finally ascended on us, and we can’t let the days slip away. The warm weather lets us, no encourages us, to take in the outdoors and explore new territory or familiarize ourselves with places we wouldn’t dare step foot on in the cold – I’m looking at you, shore towns. But more importantly, this is when work slows down and people begin to take vacations and spread their wings. If you have an itinerary of things you’re doing this summer, then good for you, I strive to be as organized as you. But if you’re the last minute free spirit like I am, or if you’re just looking to spice up your annual summer routine, then look at our guide of outdoor suggestions.

Plan a Bike Riding Date

Don’t you dare “Netflix and Chill” during the summer season. You’re no longer a hibernating bear, it’s time to go outside and catch take in some vitamin D. If you live near a beach, take your bike or rent a bike and peddle down the boardwalk together. Be sure to stop for ice cream & a selfie!

Lobster Rolls & Whale Watching

That’s right, Bah-ston (Boston). Explore the historic New England by trying an authentic lobster roll then hop on a boat to whale watch. It’s almost guaranteed you’ll see them during the summer.

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

People from all around the world gather annually in Brooklyn, New York to watch the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Competition. In fact, this is where Nathan’s was found. Once you’re finished watching, explore Luna Park in Coney Island and ride the world’s first rollercoaster, The Cyclone.

Chicago’s Air & Water Shot (August 15+16)

Go Sandboarding

Try sandboarding at The Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. You can bring your whole family and go sledding down the dunes if you’re playing it safe. Regardless, it’s a great way to spend the day & catch a tan.

Santa Barbra annually hosts a wine tasting festival. So whether you’re a wine connoisseur, or just attempting to try as many types of wines in as little time as possible there is something for everyone who appreciates the adult grape juice.

Spend the Day on a Lazy River

This is another activity which is fun for the whole family. Bring your floating cooler and prepare for a day of splashing, laughs, and memory building.
